What Do I Need?
To play with others, you’ll need the JamKazam application, plus the following:
- A computer running either Windows 10 or Mac OS X 10.8 or higher, connected to your home router using an Ethernet cable (WiFi doesn’t work well)
- An audio interface, which is a hardware accessory that lets your computer process your vocal and/or instrumental audio
- A microphone (only required for singing or acoustic instruments) with an XLR cable to connect the mic to the audio interface
- A cable to connect your instrument to the audio interface (only required for electronic instruments)
What Can I Do?
Rehearsals, Open Sessions, and Co-Writing
- Rehearse with your bandmates instantly without packing gear, driving to a common location, and arranging or paying for rehearsal space
- Join others in open sessions to play more often, explore new styles, and make new connections
- Co-write music organically in live sessions without relying on trading files
Recording & Producing
- Record both master mixes and individual stems/tracks simultaneously in sessions
- Enjoy automated recording file transfers among session participants, powered by the app
- Export stems to your favorite DAW to edit, mix, and master
Broadcasting
- Broadcast/simulcast the video and audio of session performances through YouTube Live, Facebook Live, or Twitch
- Control the mix and level of the session master audio being streamed
- Control the video being streamed, with support for dynamic cuts between full band composites and webcam views of individual performers
- For premium, ticketed performances that generate income, you’ll need to work with JamKazam’s concert services
